CCS mis-quoted by IRNA
In an article published on February 19, 2022 by a news agency (IRNA) under the title of: “Iranian Caspian horse to be pedigreed”, (https://en.irna.ir/news/84654960/Iranian-Caspian-horse-to-be-pedigreed), I was misquoted.
In this article IRNA reported that Mr. Mohammad Javad Dehghan summarized the results of 3 years collaboration between CCS and its members with the Animal Science Research Institute of Iran with regards to “identification, registration, and pedigree verification” of Iranian Caspian horses for establishment of a National Caspian Stud book. In part of this article, Mr. Mohammad Javad Dehghan was quoted:
“Since the society is the sole body to qualify the breed, he said, no horse in the world would be identified as Caspian horse unless it is pedigreed by the society.”
THIS QUOTE IS INACCURATE! The correct statement with regards to horses originating from Iran is:
“Since the Society(CCS) is the sole body to qualify Caspian horses in Iran, pre-foundation horses can’t be identified as Caspian horses around the globe, unless identified, registered, and pedigreed by the Society”.
